On January 30, 2021, Dr. Ozan Kuru will give a webinar presentation on misinformation on social media and challenges for vaccination. Description of the webinar:
As the first vaccines against COVID-19 get approval across the world, countering vaccine hesitancy in the public is crucial to contain the pandemic. One of the most complicated communicative challenges for the media and public health officials is vaccine side effects, a type of information that may easily become misleading or misinformation. We analyse differences in trust and media between three countries (Singapore, Türkiye, and the United States) and the influence of hesitancy inducing media narratives on vaccine evaluations and intentions.
The webinar is organized by the National University of Singapore, Department of Communication and New Media and the NUS Centre for Trusted Internet and Community.
